What I’d have preferred is for Vegas to either know or for me to give the option that if the video isn’t edited at all (or checked to ignore edits) that it would re-encode the audio and then package the video synced with the audio into a new container/mp.4 file. Since its different in both size and spec then an x264 Encode BluRay-1080p quality type, that is unusable to find remuxes. process the audio from ac3 to mp3 but leave the video alone so I assume it processed the audio and remuxed it to the video and created a new file in whatever container you wanted, e.g. I think avidemux had a process where you could specify whether to touch or leave either half, e.g. You'll be faced with a window like this Simply press add button and select your file or even just drag-n-drop the file into 'Input files' area. First you install the package sudo apt-get install mkvtoolnix-gui Then you start MKVmerge GUI. When it operating to remux, the content of the video (or the audio) wont be altered.
I assume that each time I re-render the file it re-encodes the entire video and audio. Remuxing is much better than reencoding, because it only changes the metadata, and not the stream itself. In the past I’ve imported the entire video into Vegas and then rendered. I often have a video presentation which I need to only fix the audio. Remux is not a scene tag or terminology used in.
